Rinjani Is Back! The 2026 Trekking Era: Smarter, Safer, and Greener

Hello, adventure seekers! The wait is finally over. After a three-month closure for ecosystem recovery, Mount Rinjani is officially reopening for the 2026 trekking season!

This year’s trek is more than just a hike; it's a digital revolution in the wild. Here are the highlights:
1. Official Schedule & Rinjani Begawe

All trails will open on April 1, 2026. The season kicks off with the "Rinjani Begawe" festival on March 28, 2026, at Teras Udayana, Mataram.

  • Note: Tickets are available on the e-Rinjani app starting March 6, 2026.

2. "High-Tech" Trekking Experience

TNGR has implemented advanced monitoring systems for safety:

  • RFID Wristbands: Mandatory digital ID for every trekker.

  • Thermal Drones: Deployed for rapid emergency evacuation in difficult terrain.

  • Personal Beacons: Position trackers to prevent anyone from getting lost.

3. Digital Zero Waste Policy

All potential waste items are recorded at the entrance.

  • Sanctions & Blacklisting: If the trash brought down doesn't match the initial list, trekkers and guides will be digitally blacklisted across all entry points.

4. Infrastructure Upgrades

  • New iron handrails on steep paths toward Lake Segara Anak.

  • New shelters at Aik Berik and Timbanuh trails.

  • Improved water source management at Sembalun Crater Rim.

Quick Tips: Update your e-Rinjani app, prepare a fresh medical certificate, and book early as daily quotas remain limited!
